Saadiyat Beach

Abrahamic Family House

The Abrahamic Family House, a symbol of religious tolerance and harmony in the UAE, is attracting a growing number of worshippers. Located on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island, the multi-faith place of worship is a milestone in promoting peaceful coexistence in the UAE.

Comprising three distinct places of worship, a mosque (the Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque), a church (the Saint Francis Church) and a synagogue (the Moses ben Maimon Synagogue), the House of the Abrahamic Family (Abrahamic Family House) has been welcoming visitors since March 1, 2023.

The center is a one-of-a-kind site for interfaith learning and dialogue; free guided tours are offered to visitors in English or Arabic. In addition to the three houses of worship, a large reception area include a café, library area, and a gift and souvenir shop. In this area called the forum, there is the wall of intentions, where visitors are invited to write down their wishes and intentions.

In view of the majestic and sober architecture, but also soothing and reassuring, “the soul of the visitor is deeply touched by the place”.

Louvre Abu Dhabi

Zayed National Museum (Upcoming)

Designed as a monument and memorial to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding president of the United Arab Emirates, the Zayed National Museum is the centerpiece of the Saadiyat Island Cultural District; it will highlight the history, culture and, more recently, the social and economic transformation of the Emirates.

Architecturally, the aim has been to combine a highly effective contemporary form with elements of traditional Arabic design and hospitality to create a museum that is sustainable, welcoming and culturally appropriate to its location. Celebrating Sheikh Zayed’s legacy and his love of nature, the museum is set in a landscaped garden, based on a timeline of his life. Five solar thermal towers (acting as chimneys to draw fresh air through the building) are shaped like falcon wings to commemorate Zayed’s love of falconry.
